Sports Update

Last week, three students represented our school at the North Conference Track and Field Championships!  We’re very proud of the entire team and the coaching staff (Coach Eisen and Anton) – well done everyone!  At this meet, Kosta competed in the Grade 4 boys shot put and performed very well!  Caitlin competed in the Girls’ long jump and finished in an amazing 6th place.  Ella also competed in the long jump and finished 3rd overall – earning herself a spot at the TDESAA City Finals! Way to go Ella, Caitlin and Kosta!

This past Monday our boys’ softball team competed in their conference quarter finals.  The placed a very strong squad from Allenby (a school more than double our size) and played very well and competitively.  Congratulations on a fantastic season to the team and to Coaches Craze, Eschle and Kellesis!

Senior Kindergarten Graduation

This past Monday, our senior kindergarten students had a graduating ceremony on our front lawn.  In perfect weather, the students shared their memories and aspirations in front of parents, family and staff.  Afterwards everyone came inside for some refreshments.  Congratulations to all of our soon to be Grade 1 students, and to their families.  A huge thanks to the parents for organizing the refreshments.  Equally important, thank you to our staff Ms. Andrews, Ms. Bower, Ms. Marchiori, Ms. Powell, Ms. Kalimbet and Ms. Ferreira for their hard work this entire year.

Mock Ontario Provincial Elections (grade 4-6)

Last week, thanks to Mr. Chen and a number of student volunteers, our grades 4-6 students were able to participate in a mock election where students voted in a simulated voting station (i.e., portable 3).  Our students learned a great deal about the voting process and also learned about the actual elections that happened later in the same week.
