Before/After Care Update

Dear Summit Heights Parents/Guardians,

The purpose of this letter is to share that our school has been notified that The Learning Enrichment Foundation’s Summit Heights B and A Program will be closing the before-and after-school program at our school, as of June 29, 2021. As you may be aware, in alignment with the provincial directives The Learning Enrichment Foundation initially suspended their program at the start of the pandemic in March 2020 and despite their best efforts, are not able to continue operating this program. Over the past 20 years, The Learning Enrichment Foundation has worked in partnership with our school to support our students and community, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their service and dedication.

Both our school and the TDSB recognize the importance and value of before-and after-school programs to our students and school community. In alignment with the TDSB’s Early Learning and Care Policy we will continue to monitor future demand at our school and will work towards developing a new program should there be sufficient demand and viability to do so.

If you are currently a family in receipt of fee subsidy, please feel free to also reach out to your Toronto Children’s Services Case Worker and they will be able to assist you in exploring alternate before- and after-school programs options.
