Notice of Parent Council Election (on Sept 22, 2022)

The Summit Heights PS School Advisory Council (also known as “SAC” or “Parent Council”) fundraises and plans programs and activities to enhance and support school initiatives.

In past years, these programs have included extracurricular activities delivered over the lunch hour, school-wide BBQs and activity days, a yearbook, grade-specific programming, support for graduations, as well as fundraising initiatives to support the school library, technology purchases, and direct funding for teachers’ classroom needs.

Parent Council meets six times throughout the year (a mix of virtual and in person, held in the evenings), and meetings are open to all parents of Summit Heights students.

Our first Parent Council meeting and election for 2022/23 Parent Council positions will be held virtually on September 22, 2022 @ 7pm. All parents of Summit Heights students may nominate themselves for positions and may vote at the election. A full list of positions is available here.

If you’re interested in learning more about Parent Council or getting involved, please reach out to this year’s Chair, Judith Borts at jborts@hotmail.com for more information! There are many available positions to meet a range of interests and time commitments!
