Reminders: Visitors, End of day Dismissal

Dear Summit Heights Families,

The staff are excited to welcome your children back to school tomorrow!  In addition to the information sent on August 29th, please note the two following items:

Visitors to SHPS
All visitors (including parents) who wish to come into our school MUST use the front doors and buzz the office.  After identifying yourself and letting us know the nature of your visit, all visitors must stop at the main office to sign-in.  For the safety of our students, please do not use any other exit to enter the building.

Dismissal (@ 3:40pm)
For this week, all students will be dismissed from the same exits where they came into our school on the morning of first day of school.   Teachers will communicate with parents if this dismissal exit changes, with changes starting on Monday, September 12th.

At dismissal, students in JK to Grade 3 will be “handed-off” by staff when the child’s parent/care-giver is present.  Students in Grades 4-8 are dismissed by their teacher to make their way home on their own. 

Parents of Grade 4&5 students may request a “hand-off” by communicating, in writing, to the classroom teacher.

The same routine applies to students going home for lunch.
